John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God loves us. All of us. Every human being was created for God and by God.
Colossians 1:16 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”
Though God loves us, it can be said that we do not always love God like we should.
John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Can we say we always keep the commandments of God? Do we love God with all our soul, all our strength, and all our mind? Do we never lie? Do we always speak purely and kindly? Do we never covet something someone else has or think a dirty thought? Sadly, none of us are perfect.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
As all encompassing as God’s love is, so is the fact that we are sinners, a person who willfully has at some time disobeyed God. We have lied when we knew it was wrong. We have had greed when we knew it was wrong. We have hated when we knew it was wrong.
Sadly sin always results in death.
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death;”
Our sin earned death. First, a physical death on earth, but eventually, a spiritual death in Hell. This is not because God does not love us or truly wants to send us to Hell, but because he must be just and righteous. A righteous judge does not let a murderer or thief go free just because he loves them, so God can not let us go free just because He loves us.
There is one more “all” though. One more promise for every human being that God loves and has sinned.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.“
God loved us so much, that He willingly became a man and died on the cross, so that way we don’t have to die in Hell. He became the propitiation for our sins, which means he was the payment for our sins. Basically, though God sentenced us to death in Hell, Jesus Christ volunteered to die instead.
What must you do to go to Heaven then? Believe.
Romans 10: 9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
If you choose to believe that you are a sinner that cannot save yourself, that Jesus Christ is God, that He died to forgive your sins, and that He rose again, and trust Him to save you and Him alone, you will go to Heaven when you die. God promises this as solidly as His love.
So how about it? Will you accept His love today?
Any questions are welcome in the comments as long as they are free from cursing and vulgarity.
