A Parent’s Guide to Big Big Baller (App/Game)

Big Big Baller by Lion Studios

Type: Action

Basic Idea: The player is a ball to roll up the earth and its contents.

Game Play: 3/5 Average: Anyone who has ever seen Katamari Damacy will already know how this game functions, rolling a ball around the earth, growing larger and larger. Unlike Katamari, though, the game is a multi-player structure where players can “kill” each other and are competing to have the largest ball and there also is not plot to the game. It also has only one level to play on. In playing style though, the game is very similar.

Graphics: 3½/5 Above Average: The game is filled with adorable 3-D graphics that didn’t exceed my expectations but did reach a minimum standard of what I would consider enjoyable in an app.

Music: 3/5 Average: There is one song that is played at times that is kind of like the music put in old 2000’s arcade games. Sound affects are average as well, with sound sometimes coming from running into others or especially large objects.

Overall: 3/5 Average: While cute and filled with potential, its similarities to Katamari Damacy and limited resources make it wanting. If updated, this game could be great and is for now ok, but with improvement, it could be spectacular.

Religious Issues: 0/5 None

Others: Background music has a rock style.

Overall: ½/5 All Ages Appropriate: This game is completely appropriate morally for all ages.
