A Parent’s Guide to Gacha Life (App/Game)

Gacha Life by Lunime

Type: Dress Up

Basic Idea: The player is in a world where they can dress up characters, play mini-games, and make their own movies.

Game Play: 3½/5 Above Average: There’s plenty for a child to do in this game. Players can dress up eight characters and then use them to create stories. Players also play mini-games ranging from math to avoiding falling objects, which earns them diamonds. Diamonds are then used on the gacha machine which gives out clothes and items. Players can also collect special characters.

Graphics: 4/5 Well Done: The graphics are simple yet beautiful. They entire nature of the game is cute and relaxing. It is a game that is all about the graphics and lots of work has been put into making them the best.

Music: 3½/5 Above Average: The music is upbeat, electronic music that is cheerful and fun for the themes in the game.

Overall: 3½/5 Above Average: As a dress up game, this game is very unique and fun, with lots of options. As a game on its own though, it is more entertaining than some, but not too extraordinary. I would recommend it to children eight and older as interesting.

Moral Content

Official Rating: E

Sexual and Inappropriate Content: 2/5 Terms and Slightly Suggestive Themes: Characters can wear short skirts and shorts, as well as low shirts, with very little curvature. Characters can be in swim suits. As a whole, the clothing is pretty modest and done in a non-provocative manner, as it is a kid’s game. Besides this, a character’s personality can be picked, some of them including “Sadistic” and “Masochistic.”

Violence: 0/5 None

Swearing and Using the Lord’s Name in Vain: 0/5 None

Emotional, Intense, and Disturbing Content: ½/5 Slight Appearance: Characters can have crying and sad faces. A person says they are so happy they might cry but don’t. “Psycho” is a possible personality.

Religious Issues: ½/5 Slight Appearance: Items you can give away include ghosts.

Magic: 1/5 Slight Mention: Your character can be a “Mage,” though can’t actually perform magic. A character is dressed like the sugar plum fairy and is named “Sugarplum.” Items you can give away include mermaid bunnies.

Others: One character is dressed as Santa Claus. Girls can be dressed as boys and vise versa, but this is a completely optional function.

Overall: 2/5 Child Appropriate: The game does mention some things, such as sadism and masochism, that may be inappropriate for children. I’m honestly not sure what age group I would recommend this for, probably no younger than twelve.

NOTE: Just because Christian Entertainment Reviews Blog recommends the game, does NOT mean we recommend the movies made online by players. We would not recommend allowing children to freely watch fan made videos created by players of the game, as at times these games contain inappropriate content.
